SERVPRO First Responder Bowl Announces Sponsorship with Global Medical Response

DALLAS – The SERVPRO First Responder Bowl, which is in its eighth year honoring first responders at its annual college football bowl game in Dallas, has announced that Global Medical Response (GMR) will become a Chief level sponsor for a minimum of three years.

As part of the sponsorship, Global Medical Response will be the presenting partner of the pre-game show. GMR will provide first responder helicopters for the pre-game flyover and GMR first responders will also sing the national anthem. The 2021 game will be played on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 2:15 p.m. (CT) at SMU’s Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas.

“We could not be more satisfied to have aligned our event with the world’s largest medical transportation company, GMR. They stand at the forefront of patient care and hold all first responders with the highest regard,” said Brant Ringler, executive director of the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl.

With more than 38,000 employees, Global Medical Response teams deliver compassionate, quality medical care to communities around the world. The organization provides end-to-end medical transportation as well as fire services, integrated healthcare solutions and disaster response.

GMR was formed by combining the industry leaders in air, ground, managed medical transportation, and community, industrial/specialty and wildland fire services. Each of its companies have long histories of proudly serving their communities: American Medical Response (AMR), Rural Metro Fire, Air Evac Lifeteam, REACH Air Medical Services, Med-Trans Corporation, AirMed International and Guardian Flight.

Combined, GMR completed 4.9 million patient transports last year utilizing 7,000 ground vehicles, 111 fire vehicles, 306 rotor-wing aircraft and 106 fixed-wing aircraft. GMR is the largest medical transport company in the world, focusing on intimate and high-service solutions at a local level.

"We are incredibly proud of this partnership with the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl," said Randy Owen, CEO of Global Medical Response. "Recognition for our nation's first responders is important to all of us at GMR and we look forward to showing our appreciation for these brave men and women who focus on patient care and community safety every day."

In December 2014, the annual bowl began honoring first responders, including police officers, firefighters, EMS workers, correctional officers, search and rescue, dispatchers, security guards, federal agents, border patrol agents and military personnel who have specialized training and are the first to arrive and provide assistance at the scene of an emergency. In 2018, the game was renamed to reflect the efforts to show appreciation to first responders.
