Project Event Assistant
The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas and the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl in Dallas, Texas are accepting resumes for a Project Event Assistant for the two annual college football bowl games. The Project Event Assistants will support the development and execution of the bowl games in terms of operations, public relations, ticket fulfillment and work with the entire bowl staff.
Mid-September 2019 – mid-January 2020
Position will be paid for up to 25 hours/week in September – mid-November and January; and then paid for 40 hours/week in mid-November and December.
Must be available to work during late December including Christmas - New Year’s Day week as well as possibly New Year’s Day and Christmas Day.
Although resumes will be accepted throughout the summer, the formal hiring process, follow-up contact and interviews will not start until August.
Assist bowl staff with operational elements of the game such as signage, trophies, ticket mailings, player and VIP gifts, team manual, etc.
Assist staff in planning and hands-on execution of the team welcome events, team kickoff luncheon, charity hospital visit, pep rally and other bowl week activities.
Attend Board and Executive Council meetings with bowl staff.
Communicate with the public, participating team fan bases and members of the military as it relates to ticket sales and ticket requests.
Assist with communications including bowl website, e-newsletters and social media pages as needed.
Assist with the bowl’s corporate military ticket underwriting program, which includes a great deal of direct communication with military personnel and public and database upkeep.
Extensive ticket order fulfillment and getting tickets to individual ticket buyers.
Assist with updating the volunteer and committee databases as needed.
The ideal candidate must be reliable, responsible and trustworthy with a desire to work in the sports industry.
Available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays (including New Year’s Day and Christmas Day).
Own a vehicle and have a good driving record.
Willingness to be a team player.
Working on or have obtained an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing or Business or Sports Management preferred.
Broad understanding of and passion for events, facilities operations, sports and social media.
Must be able to manage multiple projects at once and prioritize projects accurately and efficiently.
Needs strong personal leadership attributes including problem solving, strategic thinking and collaboration.
Fan of college football a plus.
